Don't miss the next RBBA Reception at Cafe Merlot at Bernardo Winery,
Tuesday, June 17th. There is nothing more enjoyable than a walk through
the picturesque Bernardo Winery on a beautiful summer evening. The problem
is th

e winery closes around 5PM. But now you
have a chance to enjoy that pleasure at the
next reception at Cafe Merlot, voted best
lunch by Rancho Magazine for the last
8 years. Owners Toni and Rick Kraft and Chef
Daniel Reynolds will be our gracious hosts for
the evening and you can be assured of a
delicious array of food to munch on while
chatting and networking with your fellow
members.
We are also fortunate to have Toni as our
RBBA President. Her experience as CEO of the
Poway Chamber of Commerce for a number
of years will be very beneficial to our future successes. For more information
about this reception

The reception is from 5:30pm until 7:00pm.

And don't forget to bring your compahy sales material for the Brochore table.

And then there were three. Thanks to Jan Goldsmith, Brian Maienschein and
Amy Lepine for their spirited debate May 15th at Bernardo Heights Country
Club.
Unfortunately for us, but fortunately for the City of San Diego, Scott Peters,
who is the President of the City Council, had to be at a press conference for
the major announcement of of the city's reinstatement to Standard and Poor's
credit rating. Now that's a very good excuse. Good for San Diego. Councilman
Peters did send his Campaign Manager to offer his apologies. She gave a brief
statement pertaining to his stances on various subjects.
And where was Mike Aguirre? Still no word from him or anyone on his staff of
150+ as to his whereabouts that day. Couldn't one of his staff call and say
Mike had a corn on his big toe and was stuck in the doctors office or something?
Nuf said.
At the end of the forum, a straw poll was taken and if the City of San Diego
was made up entirely of RBBA members, Brian Maienschein would win the City
Attorney office in a landslide with 74% of the vote. Jan Goldsmith took second
place with 26% of the vote. That's right, you mathemacians out there, it does
add up to 100%, which means none of the other 3 candidates got any votes.

Yes there is a FREE lunch. Board member Vonia Serakos took advantage of the
RBBA's free lunch offer; that is, if a member invites a non-member to a luncheon
and they join at the luncheon, both lunches are on the RBBA. Vonia invited her
business neighbor Andrew Monarch of Footwear, etc. to the luncheon and
Andrew became a member. Welcome aboard Andrew. Footwear, etc. is located
next door to Vonia and Leo's Bernardo Flooring and Design in The Plaza.
Andrew opened the store a few months ago and has a great selection of shoes
for men, women and children. Before you buy give an RBBA member a try.
Head over to Footwear, etc. for your next pair of shoes and welcome Andrew
to the RBBA. Andrew's web site is: footwearetc.com
Thanks once again to our sponsors. Let's give them another round of applause:
