RBBA members and guests who attended the luncheon at Bernardo Heights
Country Club on the 17th of April learned quickly that Bonnie Dumanis' job
took precedent over the RBBA. Our scheduled speaker, San Diego County
District Attorney, Bonnie Dumanis, was tied up in court and could not get away,
so she quickly called her Public Affairs Officer, Midge Costanza, to fill in.
Needless to say, those in attendance who had heard Midge speak before were
excited and before her presentation on "How to Avoid Identy Theft" was
completed, she had everyone captivated.
Midge, a 74 year old little dynamo, played up to the audience like a seasoned
stand-up comedian, as well as the veteran speaker she is, while discussing a very
serious topic regarding identity theft (I can tell her age because she revealed it
to the audience).
You can watch and listen to Midge's important message to businesses and
individuals online. Just click here. If you do not have the application QuikTime
Movie you can download it in the right hand column.
Preceding Midge's discussion was a short Power Point presentation by RBBA
Board member and Secretary Marty Judge on "Character Counts in Business",
an important look at Employer, Employee and Customer relations.
You can
watch and listen to Marty's message and RBBA President Craig Brown's opening
remarks by clicking here.
Thanks once again to Kitty Sullivan, Bernardo Heights Country Club's premier catering manager, and her very competent and attentive staff. Members and guests dined on a fantastic lunch of pecan-crusted chicken over egg fettuccine and apple crisp with vanilla ice cream for dessert.
And special thanks to the luncheon sposors. Wayne Coulon, State Farm
Insurance and Larry & Joyce McIntyre, Legend Editions, publishers of The Original
Community Phone Book and online at RBPHoneBook.com
Don't miss the luncheon photo album.
Welcome new members. Three new members joined in April. They are Mary
Berney and Richard Walloch as Individual Members and Kent Goodman of
Rancho Financial as an Associate Member. Be sure to welcome them the next
time you see them.
Three new additions to the RBBA Board. Your RBBA Board of Directors is proud
to announce that David Breitweiser, Toni Kraft and Mike Stelman have been
elected to the board.
David of Principal Financial Group joined the board in March and is heading the
Membership Committee. Toni and Mike were added in April and have been involved
with many community organizations. They bring a wealth of experience to the
board. Toni is Past President of the Poway Chamber of Commerce and is co-
owner, with her husband Rick, of Cafe Merlot in the Bernardo Winery. Mike has
served on the board of nearly every community organization. He presently serves
on the Rancho Bernardo Community Foundation Board of Directors, is owner of
Stelman Financial and is a member of the RB Hall of Fame.

Thank you charter members. We are now beginning our second year. In our first
year we built up membership to nearly 150. We put on 5 receptions, we instituted
the First Annual Christmas Tree and Menorah Lighting and had 3 luncheons
including ourMayor Jerry Sanders, Mark Fabiani of the San Diego Chargers and the
this month with San Diego County District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis' Public Affairs
Officer Midge Costanza. Quite a feat. We can't thank our Charter Members and
our first year Board of Directors enough for their accomplishments in our
inaugural year and we look forward to a very successful year two.
